Originally this bike was built by a man from Ohio in the US…so how did it end up on our shores? Well, there’s a simple yet interesting explanation – it was achieved via one of today’s largest on-line mediums, Instagram. But what the bike actually is, well that’s another matter again. First I’ll get back to the way it ended up here in Australia, more precisely, in the outer region of Geelong…
I first met the owner Hammo several years ago at the event ‘Chopped’, where I ended up doing a photoshoot on his first build. It wasn’t fancy or expensive, but the story attached to how he bought and modified a single BSA was priceless. He did all the things an early pioneer of bike building would do - improvise, overcome and adapt! From then on he’d been keen to get another ride yet remained patient enough to not just buy anything for the hell of it, instead waiting for something of a more traditional styled chopper.
